The Department of Mechanical Engineering, started in the year 2005, comprises of a dedicated, zealous and dexterous team of eight members with doctorates and post Graduates in the fields of Thermal Engineering, Engineering Design, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Engineering and Computer Aided Design, Automobile |
| Engineering and Operations Management. The well trained senior faculty members guide the students and help them to develop innovative projects such as TRIONT(3 Wheeler) ?Hybrid Vehicle and Hydro Pneumatic press using the facilities available in the department, which include an excellent Library and full-fledged laboratories. The passed out students have been employed in Automobile Industry, Manufacturing industry, Research & Development wing of various Organizations as well as is Software Companies both in the country and abroad. Faculties are also members in various professional bodies like as ISTE, MIE, SAE, etc. |
| |
| The Department has well equipped laboratories fulfilling all the curricular requirements. Crowning the laboratories in the Mechanical Department is CAD /CAM laboratory, housed in 3000 square feet, with fifty workstations having advanced CAD/CAM /CAE software and CNC Trainer lathe and machines. |
| |
| The Metallurgy and Metrology department has four imported Microscopes of resolution power of 5000X, 1000+0X, Floating arrange Micrometer, Pneumatic Comparator, etc. Capstan and Turret Lathes, Universal Milling Machines, Planer, 1000 UTM, Wind Tunnel, Dynamic Balancing Machine, Vibration Analysis Setup etc, are the other major equipment Available in the laboratories. The Department conducts a short term intensive Certificate Course on CAD /CAM /CAE. |
| |
The Department conducts interdepartmental paper presentations and seminars for students to create an awareness of the emerging technologies in various disciplines. Interdepartmental Quiz Competitions are frequently conducted to improve the IQ of the students.
| |
| |
The department has the following software packages. like Annoys, CATIA, PROE and FLUNT 6.0 the students are encouraged to go on industrial visits every semester and at least one In plant training per year is arranged to be update with the current innovation. |
| |
| Workshop and Laboratories |
The Department has well equipped laboratories fulfilling the norms of AICTE as well as the research need of the students. Students are encouraged to do Prototype Models and New Design with the guidance of the faculties in their third year. The Manufacturing Technology Lab, Strength of Materials Lab, Thermal Lab and Auto CAD/CAM Labs provide necessary help for the students to do their project work. |
| |
The workshop provides an opportunity to the students to inculcate their talents in various disciplines like creating Models in fittings, carpentry, sheet metal, foundry, domestic wiring and welding |
| |
| An ability to transform his / her imagination onto the drawing paper is necessary for the engineering graduates. In order to give practice, the two drawing halls with a total capacity of 300 students are provided with all the facilities. |
